Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

PartyPax provides animated digital invitations that are shared on WhatsApp. We are the responsible party for the personal information processed through this website. You can reach us at info@partypax.co.za.

2. Information we collect

• Invitation details you enter — names, event date, time, venue, your message, and any photos you upload.
• Contact details — your name, WhatsApp/phone number and email address, so we can deliver your invite and provide support.
• Guest RSVP information — for Smart Invites, the names, responses, party size and (optional) phone numbers of guests who RSVP.
• Payment information — payments are processed by PayFast. We receive confirmation of payment but we do not collect or store your card details.
• Technical information — basic usage and device data needed to operate and secure the service.

3. How we use your information

• To create, generate and deliver your invitation.
• To process your payment and send you confirmation.
• To send invites, RSVP confirmations and reminders, including over WhatsApp where you have asked us to.
• To provide customer support and respond to your queries.
• To operate, maintain, secure and improve the service.
• Where you ask us to match you with event suppliers, to share the relevant details with you and participating suppliers.

4. Consent and lawful basis

We process your information to perform our service to you, to meet legal obligations, and on the basis of your consent — for example when you ask us to contact you or your guests on WhatsApp. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, although this may affect our ability to deliver the service.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed:

• PayFast — to process payments securely.
• Google Firebase — for hosting, database and file storage.
• WhatsApp / Meta — to deliver invites, confirmations and reminders when you choose WhatsApp.
• Event suppliers — only if you opt in to being matched with suppliers.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Cross-border processing

Some of our service providers (such as Google and Meta) may process information on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives a comparable level of protection as required by POPIA.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as needed to deliver your invitation, support you, and meet legal and accounting obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

9. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Object to certain processing.
• Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

10. Children

PartyPax is intended for adults. Where an invitation relates to a child (for example a kids' party), it should be created by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the information provided.
